Visitors to PCH
PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF EAST AFRICA - OLOLUA CHURCH – We were blessed to have visitors from PCEA Ololua Women’s Guild recently. They shared a bible study from the book of Matthew 7:13-14. This passage emphasizes the choices between the easy, broad path of destruction, and the difficult, narrow path that leads to eternal life. They appreciated and acknowledged the good work we are doing since supporting teenagers has its challenges and requires patience and wisdom. They encouraged us to show love and correct them wisely.
CLEAN SHELF SUPERMARKET – As part of their corporate Social Responsibility, Clean Shelf Supermarket staff visited PCH in May 2025. They donated toiletries and food and engaged the girls in team-building activities. College girls present shared their testimony and the role PCH has played on their life journey.
HOPE INTERNATIONAL CHURCH - We were grateful for a repeat visit by Pastor Benjamin Otieno, worship leaders Ms Dinah Dombi and Mr Safari, all of Hope Church, Matasia. They were accompanied by Ms Lisa Cooper (Personal Assistant to President of Hope International Church USA). The team spent time with the girls, encouraging them to work hard and be disciplined. The team donated 3 suitcases of toiletries. The girls also gifted the team with key rings, which they regularly make during their free time.
AZUSA PACIFIC UNIVERSITY - A team of faculty and students from the Psychology department from Azusa Pacific University visited the school and the home in July. Their two weeks on campus were filled with insightful discussions. The visiting team was led by Dr. Chege, Dr. Tonni, and Dr. Joy, The students on the team were David (Team lead), Arianna, Grace, Levi, and Sarah - two doctoral students and three master students. They are all majoring in Marriage and Family Therapy. During their time at the home and the school, their engagement was designed to benefit both our staff and students. The APU team delivered powerful group presentations and held two face-to-face sessions with PCH staff. They asked the staff and students for input on the topics they would like covered. Discussions involved Drugs and Substance Abuse, Career Development, Effective Communication, Managing Exam Anxiety, Preventing Burnout, and Achieving a Work-Life Balance. Our girls, as students at Joram G M Academy, enjoyed engaging in various games and two friendly basketball matches with the APU team. They were deeply impressed by the home and the school’s concerted effort in providing mental health support and the profound dedication poured into the children every day. It was a truly inspiring two weeks, and we are grateful for the knowledge, passion, and friendships shared by the APU professors and students.
